As the college hockey season hits the postseason, several conferences have announced their All-Rookie Teams this week. It’s been a year full of parity and excitement around college hockey, not the least of which has been the freshman class full of high-end NHL prospects including some draft-eligibles.

Here’s a look at some of the nation’s top rookies from the 2024-25 season as all conferences are now in their postseason.

Sacha Boisvert, F, North Dakota (CHI)

Boisvert was a unanimous selection on the NCHC’s All-Rookie Team as the left-shot center has enjoyed a tremendous season in Grand Forks. Boisvert lit the lamp 16 times over 34 regular-season games, which led the UND roster. His 28 points are also tied for the team lead and he’s seen time on UND’s power play (25.5%), which ranks seventh in the country.

Charlie Cerrato, F, Penn State (undrafted)

Cerrato has played a key role in Penn State’s second-half surge and is up to 36 points, including 15 goals. Cerrato blossomed with the USHL’s Youngstown Phantoms last season and put up 50 points, and that production has continued. He’s averaging more than a point-per-game and is an intriguing name to follow this June.

Cole Eiserman, F, Boston College (NYI)

Eiserman’s always had a knack for finding the back of the net and it’s followed him to college. The left-shot forward has 20 goals on the season, which leads all freshmen, and he’s one of just 14 NCAA players to hit that mark. Eiserman netted a pair of hat tricks this season and has seven multi-point efforts. He has five points over his past two games too.

Ajeet Gundarah, G, Sacred Heart (undrafted)

Gundarah has quietly been one of the nation’s top goalies. He owns a 1.85 GAA – which ranks sixth among NCAA goalies – and .937 save percentage, which ranks fourth. Gundarah went 16-5-3 and led Sacred Heart to a second-place finish in the AHA standings. At 6-foot and 180 pounds he’s not exactly the biggest kid in the crease, but he’s performed well to start his collegiate career. A big test awaits this weekend as Sacred Heart takes on Bentley in the AHA semifinals.

Michael Hage, F, Michigan (MTL)

Hage got off to a strong start, scoring in four of his first five games. He has 13 goals and 34 points through 33 games, both of which rank second on the Michigan roster. Hage has just two goals over his past 17 games but he’s continued to make an impact and make plays. He might not be done either, as Michigan currently sits 14th in the Pairwise, but the Wolverines are far from an NCAA Tournament lock.

Trevor Hoskin, F, Niagara (CGY)

Hoskin has quietly flourished in Atlantic Hockey and his 39 points are tied with Cole Hutson for the most among NCAA freshmen. The Ontario native enjoyed a torrid January and had two different seven-game point streaks. Hoskin’s 39 points (12-27-39) were also tied for the team lead.

Cole Hutson, D, Boston University (WSH)

Hutson has scored in four straight and owns a six-game point streak, picking up 11 points (4-7-11) in that stretch. The Hutson name is well-known throughout the sport, for good reason, and Cole has enjoyed a breakout year – both with BU and at the WJC. He has 39 points (12-27-39) with BU, which ranks second among NCAA defensemen, and is tied with Hoskin for the freshman scoring lead.

Cullen Potter, F, Arizona State (2025 NHL Draft-eligible)

Potter finished the regular season strong, netting four goals over his final three games. His 13-goal, 21-point season earned a spot on the NCHC's All-Rookie Team and between his speed and puck skills, Potter has been one of the NCHC's most-dynamic players this winter. He's been a big part of ASU's offensive success and ASU's 124 goals are tied for sixth in the country.

Hampton Slukynsky, G, Western Michigan (LAK)

Slukynsky and Cameron Rowe formed the nation’s top goalie tandem this season and the rookie certainly did his share, helping the Broncos capture the Penrose Cup. Slukynsky finished the regular season with a 11-5-1 record, .920 save percentage and 2.04 GAA. The Warroad, Minn. product has made 401 of a possible 436 saves and was also a unanimous pick for the NCHC All-Rookie Team.

Mikhail Yegorov, G, Boston University (NJD)

Yegorov has the smallest sample size on this list, but he’s arguably had the biggest impact. And he played a critical role in BU’s strong finish. Yegorov spent the first half of the season playing behind a struggling Omaha (USHL) lineup but joined the Terriers in late January and has taken off since. He’s 7-4-1 with a .936 save percentage and 1.82 GAA down the stretch and has BU up to six in the Pairwise.
