Despite a late two-run homer, Ohio State Baseball was not able to overcome Baylor Baseball's four-run lead achieved in the eighth inning on the second-to-last day of play at the 2025 Amegy Bank College Baseball Series.

The Buckeyes entered the matchup sitting at 1-6, struggling to give their season any sort of firepower.

The Baylor Bears were the opposite story, entering the matchup at 7-2, looking to recover from a recent loss to Oregon State.

Both teams brought their best, trading blows the whole game, with Baylor taking an early lead that was eventually tied.

But the Bears would retake that lead in a four-run eighth inning, assisted by two Teplanszky RBI and two singles that led Bears to home plate.

Despite an attempt to recover in the ninth inning with a two-run homer, Ohio State could not find enough, securing Baylor's 8-6 win.
