Auburn is off to an incredible 11-1 start to its 2025 campaign, and that includes three wins during the 2025 Amegy Bank College Baseball Series – Weekend 3 in Arlington, Texas.

The Tigers capped their visit to Globe Life Field with a 7-4 triumph over Baylor on Sunday to go along with victories against Ohio State on Friday (13-0) and an upset of No. 9 Oregon State on Saturday night (8-7).

Baylor, which was off to its best start to a season since 2019, struggled during the short road trip from Waco, Texas, and posted a 1-2 record over the weekend, losing to Oregon State (4-3) and beating Ohio State (8-6), before running into Auburn. The Bears now are 8-3 overall.

The Amegy Bank College Baseball Series again was held at GLF, home of the world champion Texas Rangers, as part of three exciting weekends of college baseball in Texas.

The schedule included the Shriners Children’s College Showdown (Feb. 14-16), Amegy Bank College Baseball Series presented by Kubota Weekend 2 (Feb. 21-23) and Amegy Bank College Baseball Series presented by Kubota Weekend 3 (Feb. 28-March 2).

There also are a handful of midweek games on the schedule for Feb. 18, Feb. 19, Feb. 26 and March 5.

The game between Auburn and Baylor was the second meeting in history between the two programs, and the Tigers now own a 2-0 advantage in their all-time series.

Sunday’s win was the 10th consecutive overall for Auburn, and the Tigers got there by scoring two runs in the second, third and eighth innings, along with one in the fifth.

The key blemishes for Auburn in the field were big ones – a leadoff home run from redshirt sophomore Jack Little and a two-run jack by redshirt senior Enzo Apodaca in the bottom of the eighth inning.

Auburn’s starting pitcher, freshman right-hander Christian Chatterton, gave up the game-opening homer for Baylor, but he quickly settled down. He pitched five innings, giving up one run on two hits, while striking out nine and walking two. He earned the victory and now is 1-0 on the season.

The Auburn offense collected its seven runs on 11 hits, while leaving eight runners on base. Two Tigers had multiple hits, led by freshman Chase Fralick, who was 3 for 4 with two RBIs.

Baylor managed nine hits in the contest Sunday, with two players having two apiece.

Four pitchers saw action for Baylor, with starter Cole Stasio, a redshirt senior righty, taking the loss to fall to 1-1 on the year. He pitched 2 1/3 innings, giving up four earned runs on six hits, while striking out one and walking two.

In the previous meeting between Auburn and Baylor, a 2021 showdown at the Round Rock Classic in Round Rock, Texas, the Bears upset then-No. 17 Auburn 12-6 to take a 1-0 lead in the all-time series between the two teams.

In the latest D1Baseball Top 25, released Feb. 24, neither team was ranked.

Up next for Baylor is a homestand that begins March 4 and includes a game against Tarleton, three games against Loyola Marymount and one against Sam Houston.

Auburn will take its near-perfect record on the road and face the University of Alabama at Birmingham on March 4.
