Arkansas Baseball Defeats TCU 2-1 In Low-Scoring Duel At Globe Life Field

Arkansas defeats TCU 2-1 in a Top 25 clash. Kuhio Aloy’s two-run double led the Razorbacks to victory with strong pitching from Zach Root and Beidelschies.

Arkansas secured a dramatic 2-1 victory over TCU in a low-scoring baseball duel at the Amegy Bank College Baseball Series at Globe Life Field.

The No. 5 Razorbacks trailed for most of the game until Kuhio Aloy’s two-run double in the seventh inning brought in the necessary runs for Arkansas. 

Despite a strong showing from TCU’s Tommy LaPour, who pitched 6.0 innings with 5 strikeouts, the No. 22 Horned Frogs couldn’t capitalize on their early lead. TCU's pitchers Shinn, Rodriguez, and Bixby combined for a solid performance, and none allowed a run, with Rodriguez conceding the only hit.

Zach Root’s dominant start kept Arkansas in the game, striking out 10 batters over 5 innings. Landon Beidelschies earned the win after 2.2 scoreless innings, while Christian Foutch closed the game with a clutch strikeout in the ninth inning, leaving two TCU runners stranded. 

Arkansas showed their mettle a day after losing in a big upset to Kansas State.

Arkansas Wins A Low-Scoring Duel

Arkansas and TCU scored three runs combined in a dramatic win for the Razorbacks. 

After trailling for nearly sevening innings, and failing to score a run, Kuhio Aloy hit a two-run double, bringing in the only runs Arkansas would need to win the game.

Outside of that, the game was dominated by elite pitching.

Tommy LaPour gets the loss, but he pitched 6.0 solid innings, giving up the 2 runs, but throwing for 5 strikeouts. TCU had three other pitchers, Shinn, Rodriguez and Bixby, none gave up a run and only Rodriguez gave up a hit. 

The Hogs needed only three pitchers to get the win. Zach Root pitched 5 innings, allowing 1 earned run, 2 hits, and striking out 10 batters. 

Beidelschies, who relieved Root, gets the win after pitching 2.2 innings, allowing no hits, and walking only one batter.
