The MLB Draft has gone through some changes since the last CBA deal was finalized in 2022. And so far it seems all changes have worked out.

The MLB Draft Lottery makes tanking a riskier team building strategy. The league allows competitive balance picks to be traded, which has been used in major trades the last two off-seasons.

And one change made baseball's mid-summer classic an even better experience.

The MLB Draft was pushed back a month from June to July to help launch MLB All-Star Week. The draft begins on Sunday and ends on Tuesday before the All-Star Game.

The longer break means that college players don't have to deal with College Baseball World Series and the MLB Draft crossing paths and it means there is plenty of time between the end of the college and high school seasons and the draft.

The Division I College Baseball season begins on Feb. 14, by the way, with some of the top prospects at the college level playing at the College Baseball Showdown at Globe Life Field.

Here's what to know about the 2025 MLB Draft.
