2024 MLB Draft Order For All 20 Rounds
2024 MLB Draft Order For All 20 Rounds
The MLB Draft 2024 slate is full of potential franchise-changing picks, including by the Cleveland Guardians at No. 1. Here's the complete MLB Draft order.
The Cleveland Guardians have been on the clock since December and it’s almost time for them to decide who will be the franchise’s first-ever No.1 overall pick.
The 2024 MLB Draft begins on July 14 at 7 p.m. EST and runs till July 16 with 20 rounds total.
Despite having poor odds to win the No. 1 overall pick, the Guardians were the biggest winners in the MLB Lottery in December 2023 when it won the top pick. The Guardians had a 2% chance to win the first pick. The Cincinnati Reds had even worse odds at .9%, but won the No. 2 pick.

Cleveland has never drafted No. 1, but has drafted No. 2 five times. A perennial American League Central Contender who won 92 games in 2022 before finishing 76-86 in 2023, Cleveland is currently 56-33 in 2024 and as of July 9 had the third-best record in baseball.
The team hasn’t drafted in the top-10 since taking Clint Frazier in 2013 at No. 5. Frazier was eventually traded to the New York Yankees in 2016 for Andrew Miller and never played for Cleveland.
Whoever Cleveland takes No. 1, the latest mock draft says it’ll be 2023 Big 12 Player of the Year J.J. Wetherholt of West Virginia, it’ll be the first of about 600 selections over three days.
