Both the B's and High Wheelers come into the June 18-23 set above .500 on the season, with Yolo climbing to 11-10 on the strength of a three-game winning streak. The High Wheelers closed out a road series win with hot bats in wins over the Norther Colorado Owlz, capped with Braylin Marine's six-RBI performance in the 14-3 series finale.

In taking 4-of-6 from the Owlz, Yolo rebounded from dropping the previous set in Oakland's inaugural homestand, June 4-8 at Raimondi Park. The first-ever home series for the Ballers is part of a 14-10 opening stretch to their existence, including last week's series split with the Rocky Mountain Vibes. 

Oakland capped the series against Rocky Mountain with a 16-3 drubbing of the Vibes, which included home runs from Brad Burckel, Coleton Horner and Noah Martinez. 

The offensive outpouring was an aberration from much of the series, in which the B's and Vibes locked into pitchers' duels. Four of the six contests ended with combined totals of nine runs or fewer. 

In a 5-1 Ballers win, Carson Lambert pitched six shutout innings with nine strikeouts and allowed just three hits.

Players to Watch

Trevor Halsema, OF, Oakland Ballers

With three consecutive multiple-hit games against Rocky Mountain, Trevor Halsema has 10 games with two-plus knocks on the young 2024 season. His .383 batting average, 30 RBI and .654 slugging percentage all pace the Ballers,  and his six home runs match Dondrei Hubbard for team-high. 

In the last seris against Yolo, Halsema had two outings with three RBI, including a 3-of-4 showing in the June 9 finale. 

Bobby Lada, SS, Yolo High Wheelers 

Bobby Lada, a capable middle infielder for Yolo, also brings a big bat to the plate. Lada is hitting a team-high .395 — 14th-best among all Pioneer League batters — in a High Wheelers-leading 86 at-bats. 

Lada combines power and speed offensively, boasting six home runs on the season with 10 stolen bases — including at least one swipe in three consecutive games during the High Wheelers' series with Northern Colorado.
