No. 8 Wake Forest Vs. Elon Baseball: How To Watch
No. 8 Wake Forest Baseball will face Elon Baseball at 6 p.m. (ET) Tuesday, with the showdown being streamed live and exclusively on FloBaseball.
Elon baseball hasn’t found its way to the top of the Coastal Athletic Conference standings yet, but the Phoenix can stumble upon a major nonconference win Tuesday night if the game turns in their favor.
No. 8 (per the most recent D1baseball.com poll) Wake Forest — which just a season ago made the College World Series as the No. 1 national seed, making the national semifinals in the process — will pay a visit to Latham Park in Elon, North Carolina to face the host Phoenix at 6 p.m. (ET) Tuesday, with the showdown being streamed live and exclusively on FloBaseball.

Elon and Wake Forest faced off once previously this season in Winston-Salem back on March 3, in which the then-No. 1 Demon Deacons won 9-0. The two programs frequently meet in midweeks during the regular season, with Tuesday marking the 107th time in history that the two schools (separated by less than an hour’s drive) have met on the baseball diamond. The Phoenix have more than held their own at times, however, picking up a big victory in Elon over the then-No. 2 Deacs last season for the program’s highest-ranked win since 2002.
Elon will fine-tune its setup against Wake Forest ahead of its latest CAA matchup against Northeastern, with the Phoenix traveling to Boston for a three-game series which will go from Friday to Sunday.

Player to Watch: Nick Kurtz, 1B, Wake Forest
When it comes to choosing just one name out of the bunch of offensive weapons that the Demon Deacons take to the plate, it’s kind of a take-your-pick scenario as five different players have already hit the 10-homer mark this season.
None on Wake Forest’s roster, however, have more long bombs than Kurtz, who etched himself into program legend last season and hasn’t looked back. A Golden Spikes Award semifinalist, First Team All-Atlantic Coast Conference selection and ABCA First Team All-American in 2023, Kurtz was spectacular by smashing 24 home runs and 69 RBIs with a .784 slugging percentage as MLB.com’s No. 2 overall prospect for the 2024 draft — who was originally recruited to Wake Forest as a pitcher — is likely going to make a major-league team very happy someday with his elite power.
Well on pace to break the 20-homers threshold once again as he’s already up to 17 blasts on the year as of Monday night, Kurtz’s slugging percentage is .843 to make him No. 1 in the ACC right now as he has four multi-homer games to boot with it, too.
