Next year, Big Ten Baseball welcomes four strong baseball programs into the mix in UCLA, Washington, Oregon and the winningest program in the country, USC. So the current teams should take advantage before the league becomes much more difficult to navigate.

That may elevate the pressure on the 2024 favorites make hay.

The Iowa Baseball team is the preseason favorite in the Big Ten led by a pair of talented right-handed pitchers and outfielder Sam Peterson

No. 20 Iowa is the favorite after a 44-16 season a year ago and with one of the best returning pitchers in baseball back in Brody Brecht. They reached the Big Ten Championship Game before losing to Maryland and were eliminated by Indiana State in the NCAA Regionals a year ago.

Nebraska Baseball, which heads to the College Baseball Showdown on Feb. 16, is picked to finish fifth.

Here's what to know about the Big Ten entering the season.
