Here’s everything you need to know about Oklahoma State baseball ahead of the 2024 season:
How Did Oklahoma State Baseball Do In 2023?
The Cowboys ride into 2024 coming off a 41-20- finish in 2023, the program's third 40-plus-win season in the last four full campaigns.
Oklahoma State reached its 10th consecutive NCAA Tournament after finishing tied atop the Big 12, its best conference finish since 2014.
The Big 12 regular-season champions hosted the Stillwater Regional, but they were bounced with losses to Oral Roberts and Dallas Baptist.
The unceremonious exit from the postseason fuels the Cowboys going into 2024.
Who Coaches Oklahoma State Baseball?
Oklahoma State alum Josh Holliday returned to Stillwater as head coach in 2013 after working as an assistant at such noteworthy programs as Arizona State and Vanderbilt.
Since Holliday's return, Oklahoma State baseball has reached the NCAA Tournament every year and reached the College World Series in 2016.
Has Oklahoma State Ever Won The College World Series?
Oklahoma State won its only College World Series championship in 1959.
The Cowboys' 2016 run to Omaha marked the 20th College World Series appearance in Oklahoma State baseball history, but the first since 1999. That was the longest drought Oklahoma State faced since reaching its first CWS in 1948.
Oklahoma State advanced to the title round five times since 1959, but not again since 1990.
Notable Returning Players
Nolan Schubart, OF
One of the nation's top returning power hitters, Nolan Schubart hit .338 with a .667 slugging percentage and 1.118 OPS in 2023.
The rangy outfielder garnered Freshman All-American recognition and is a preseason pick for first-team All-America, per D1Baseball.com.
Carson Benge, OF/RHP
Oklahoma State's leading batter a season ago, Carson Benge, looks again to set the tone for the Cowboys in 2024, but it's not just at the plate that Benge impacts the game.
Benge won the John Olerud Award last season with a team-leading .345 average and was among Oklahoma State's most prolific base-stealers with eight swipes.
On the mound, Benge worked 35 innings and struck out 35 batters. MLB.com reports his fastball tops out at 96 mph.
Notable Newcomers
Kyler Proctor, SS
Local prospect Kyler Proctor comes to Oklahoma State from Silo High School, where he powered a state championship-winning team.
Proctor was an outstanding hitter at the prep level and could be poised to make an immediate impact for Oklahoma State.
Blake Julius, RHP
Mansfield, Texas-product Blake Julius is a 6-foot-6 right-hander who put up dominant numbers in high school.
He's an intriguing addition to the Cowboys pitching rotation.
