The Ogden Raptors sent pitcher Quinn Waterhouse to the Missoula Paddleheads this week, with Ogden having the ability to recall or pick up a player to be named later. Waterhouse is in his first year of professional ball after spending the 2020 and 2021 NCAA seasons at SIU Edwardsville, and this past campaign at Lamar.
As a Cardinal, Waterhouse had a 3.91 ERA and struck out 16 in 23 innings as a reliever. He is eight games into his Pioneer League tenure, making eight appearances and 11 innings' worth of work out of the bullpen. Waterhouse has 12 strikeouts in those opportunities.
In the Atlantic League, the Lancaster Barnstormers signed right-handed starting pitcher Matt Reitz, no stranger to the independent circuit.
Reitz made a start for Charleston earlier this season and allowed just one run in five innings. He threw six innings in his Lancaster debut and struck out three en route to the win.
Reitz previously pitched in the Atlantic League last summer at Lexington, and has Frontier League experience with Trois-Rivieres, Florence and Quebec.
