Former Major League Baseball infielder and Team USA member Patrick Kivlehan, a former fourth round pick of the Seattle Mariners and former MLB utility player, has signed with New York Boulders of the Frontier League. 

A native New York, Kivlehan will be playing professionally in his home state for the first time in his career.

Kivlehan, 33, was born in Nyack, New York  and grew up in New Brunswick, New Jersey, He was a two-sport star in high school and college. Kivlehan played defensive back for Rutgers in 43 games. On the baseball diamond for Rutgers, Kivlehan batted .392 with 14 home runs, 50 RBI and 24 stolen bases as he was named BIG EAST Player of the Year in 2012.

Kivlehan played on Team USA at the Tokyo Olympics as baseball returned to the Summer Games after a decade-long hiatus. 

Kivlehan helped the team win silver at the games. 

Patrick Kivlehan Played For 3 MLB Teams, Including The Cincinnati Reds

Drafted by the Seattle Mariners, Kivlehan didn’t make his major league debut until 2016 with the San Diego Padres. That same season he was claimed off waivers by the Cincinnati Reds, where he would go to play in 115 games in 2017. 

Kivlehan played for the Diamondbacks in 2018 and later played in the majors in 2021 for the Padres.

Kivlehan played for Yakult Swallows in Japan in 2022 after having started the season playing in the Chicago White Sox organization.
