SAC Names Week 12 Varsity Gems Baseball Player And Pitcher Of The Week
LMU's Cameron Bowen is the SAC Baseball Player of the Week, while Wingate’s Mitch Farris is the SAC Pitcher of the Week for Week 12 of the 2023 season.
Lincoln Memorial’s Cameron Bowen was named the South Atlantic Conference Varsity Gems Baseball Player of the Week, while Wingate’s Mitch Farris was named Varsity Gems Baseball Pitcher of the Week for games played during Week 12 of the 2023 season, the conference office announced Tuesday.
Bowen, a junior designated hitter from Williamsburg, Kentucky, led the Railsplitters to a 5-0 record last week, including a SAC series sweep of Emory & Henry.
He batted .450 for the week with five home runs, 14 RBIs, eight runs scored and a stolen base.
He finished the week with a .542 on-base percentage and a 1.200 slugging percentage.
Farris, a junior left-hander from Palm Harbor, Florida, earned his 10th win of the season last week, defeating UVA Wise 8-2.
He threw eight innings allowing two runs on four hits. He had nine strikeouts in the win.
